Getting Ready for Spooky Season

I’ll be ramping things up in the next few weeks with more posts and more sets as spooky season gets closer to Halloween. I’ve been shooting a bunch of new sets, including this brand-new one with long-time collaborator Elina Lo.

Elina and I first began shooting together before my recent stint in Florida, back when I was still living in Los Angeles in 2018. My family lives down here, so during one of my visits we met up and instantly clicked.

Why I Love Shooting with Elina Lo

I always enjoy working with Elina, especially around Halloween. She consistently puts together strong looks that capture the season’s vibe. For this shoot, we decided to keep it simple and go with a Coraline cosplay.

Revisiting Coraline Through Photography

I actually saw Coraline in theaters back in 2009, so when Elina pitched this idea I was immediately excited to bring it to life through photography. While I don’t always know every piece of media behind the cosplays I shoot, I try to check them out—even if it’s after the fact. This time, though, it might be worth a rewatch.

Final Thoughts

Halloween shoots always spark creativity, and this Coraline set was no exception. Working with Elina Lo reminds me why I love collaborating with talented models who bring their own spin and energy to a project.
